……Report of an inspection of services for children and young people in the Isle of Man by the Care Inspectorate February 2014.

SSRE Validation 2009: Reeves. U.K......The Centre provides high quality and greatly appreciated advice and support not only directly to children but to their families, carers, schools, nurseries and others. There is an excellent programme – involving, for example, reviews, visits, advice and training – to enable children to make a successful transition to mainstream schools.

The validation team, again recognising the high standards that the Centre sets for itself and being aware of the bigger picture beyond the Centre and of the way in which it supports others, finds that Care, Guidance and Support is ‘Outstanding’.

‘Establishing firm foundations in its excellent early intervention work stressed in all special education systems, not always realised as it is on the island.’ (NFER1999).

The outcome of Pre School assessment and service quality was highlighted as a ‘strength’. (Management and Advisory Service Report on the Special Educational Needs and Psychology Support Service 2003)

‘Well designed programme of learning and development delivered through the in service education training programme. Strategies for supporting the development of staff had been well thought out with strong emphasis on “putting children first” and reflecting this in the development and use of a range of policies and processes.’ (Investors in People Assessment, Peter Clarke 2004)
