The centre organises and runs a number of courses throughout the academic year. These are open to parents and professionals. A small charge may be necessary to cover administration fees. From time to time the centre closes to facilitate these courses.

Social Stories
We offer a short introduction to 'Social Stories' at the Pre School Assessment Centre. Social Stories are a way to explain difficult situations and new events to a a child through stories. They help prepare a child for change and to understand how they should behave in certain situations. This can be of great help to all children especially those who have social and communication difficulties. The course is informal and will hopefully give you the practical advice to help you write stories of your own. If you would like to attend please contact the centre.
PECS Awareness day (Picture Exchange Communication System)
This is a communication system to encourage interaction and language, using picture exchange, for children with ASC and severe language problems. This is a full day course.
